A few Albertson Deals ~ 30 April
This all came up to $19.32 (this includes the catalinas I received back) ~ it should have been $17.82, after checking my receipt I noticed that one of my coupons for $1.50 was not deducted ... but this can occasionally happen when handing over a handful of coupons and trying to work "the deals" ~ and the cashier I had for this transaction is always terrific & helpful when it comes to making sure everything is there ... so don't get frustrated, sometimes this can happen & sometimes the opposite happens ... shortly after that when I picked my son up from school we went to Wendy's to use the frosty coupon - see here - and after checking my receipt later I think they under-charged me by $1.00

On to the transaction ... I think it was a pretty good deal! In the past just 2 of the organic un-sweetened cranberry juices would have almost cost me this much! and we drink a lot of these! Will post more on that later.

I decided to purchase the pringles along with the puff tissues for the P&G deal of buy $20 get $5 in a catalina back - so that takes the total for these items to $15 already - then I received another $3 in a catalina to be used on other P&G items bringing this to $12, then I used five $1.00 coupons and doubled 2 of these(from the paper for the pringles buy 2 get $1 off) this brings the total for these items to $5.00 minus another 25cent coupon for the puffs = $4.75 for 10 cans of pringles and 4 boxes of tissues ... so about 34cents per item for this particular "deal."

I also purchased 6 coffee mates for the "deal" on page 3 of the Albertsons ad - you only need to purchase 5, but I had 3 coupons for $1.50 off 2 (this is where one of my coupons was missed though) so: 6 at $2 each = $12 minus $2 in instant savings - minus 2 coupons at $1.50 each = $7.00 makes these $1.17 each ... really not that good of a deal, if my other coupons would have been scanned they would have been 92cents each (print coupons - here - if you can print the $1.00 off ones this will be a really good bargain - buy 5 for $10.00 then minus $2 instant & $5 in coupons would make these 60cents each -, but we use a lot of coffee creamer so I had already reached my print limit on these for now)

I also purchased french bread for dinner ... I love Albertsons french bread! And the Land O'Lakes Spreadable Butter is on sale for 4 for $5 buy 2 and get a 50cent catalina - also use 55cent coupon from here - if you buy 2 this makes them 45cents each. Tortillas were free, I'll post on that in a bit & 2 Cranberry Juices at $4.99 each (which can seem pretty expensive for Cranberry Juice unless you drink unsweetened organic cranberry juice!)

Fabuless Fresh Fruit Pizza!
I picked up a few sugar cookie mixes that were on sale at Albertsons & this is one thing I like to make with them. You can also use the refrigerated sugar cookie dough in the Pillsbury cans -or- even just make your own sugar cookie base.
Make a large pizza sized cookie and bake on a pizza sheet according to package directions.
Rest of the Ingredients:
8oz of cream cheese softened -or- used whipped cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
2 T. fruit juice
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 cup fruit juice
1 small can pineapple wedges
fresh fruit ~ you don't need a lot & I usually use what is fresh and in season: berries, bananas, kiwis, grapes ...
Cool large sugar cookie. Mix cream cheese, sugar, and 2 T. fruit juice together until smooth. Spread on cookie & top with fruit.
In a saucepan mix together 1 cup fruit juice and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until thick & then cool. Spread this sauce over the fruit topping the top of the fruit pizza. Refrigerate & enjoy :-)

A few other "Good Deals" I came across this week!
I did manage to stop by Walgreens on Earth Day and received an extra 15% discount. I got my free bag and picked up 2 more Dawn dish soaps (each 47cents) and a case of water (thus the little coupon in the pic, I didn't feel like dragging it in for the photo shoot!): My subtotal came to $1.82 for these items.
I found the John Frieda shampoo & conditioner on clearance at Albertsons this past week ~ they were $3.24 a bottle minus a $2.00 coupon (from the paper) that I had for each one - this brings them to $1.24 a bottle - for a subtotal of $7.44 -then- a $5.00 register reward printed! making them approximately 41cents a bottle (the original price per bottle was $6.49.) I think you only need to buy 5 for the register reward, so that would make them even less in price per bottle! So check out the clearance merchandise while you're shopping and if you've got any matching coupons ... you'll never know what good deals you'll find!Did you know about these? I had to make another trip to Albertsons the other day ... with all the "good deals" shopping I've been doing I forgot to pick up some cream cheese I needed to make a Fruit Pizza, I'll have more on that Fruit Pizza later. Of course I couldn't pass up the chance to work another "good deal" :-) These are part of the Buy $10 get $4 off (see post here) ~ they came to approximately 85cents a box with coupons (I had some from the newspaper) and discounts, there are 2 pouches in each box. I really like sweet potatoes so I'm excited to try these! I picked up 2 boxes of these - 2 more sugar cookie mixes - 2 more boxes of bagel-fuls and the cream cheese I needed ... for a grand sub-total of $1.37

I've also labeled some of inside sections of the book ~ the post-it note tabs work really well for me, I can re-arrange thing easily when I need to.
In the very back section I keep all of my Register Rewards organized by date ~ always in easy view to check expiration dates, and to get to quickly when I'm paying.
I also keep my grocery lists at the back ~ I usually like to keep running lists for the stores I shop at. I also keep some envelopes in the back for things that I am specifically looking for -and- also store specific ones that I know I'll be using when I'm in a particular store.
So that's my coupon book ~ I know the pics are a little dark, it was pretty late at night when I took these a few days ago ~ but I hope it gives you some ideas on creating your own.
My Coupon Book
Over the past few weeks a few friends have asked about how I organize my coupons and about my coupon book ~ so here it finally is! I really thought about what I would carry around with me ... I just knew I wouldn't want to carry around anything too big ~ and I also wanted to like it and have it be pretty ... I really like this retro design :-)
It's a photo album that I found at Target. It is a little less than 8x9 inches in size. When I'm carrying a bigger bag it fits inside ... and when I'm carrying a smaller bag it's really easy to hold. I used a sharpie to label post-it note tabs with sections that would make sense for me ... things like Fridge/Freezer/Baking etc ...
It has a band that goes around it to help keep it closed when I'm not leafing through it.
And this is what it looks like inside.
